Movies. I love movies. So do a lot of other people.
I started this blog hoping to put my writing skills to use — actually, the purpose was to keep my skills in practice for consistent sharpening. I’d like to become a professional writer/director, so I may as well start somewhere.
These reviews are my own opinion, though I do state some things as fact — that’s what critics do. Forgive me if I rant and rave — it’s something I learned to do in college. That said, I don’t expect everyone to agree with me, and that’s part of what makes this website worth doing — the chance to have discussions with other movie fans. Feel free to comment, and let me know how you feel.
I hold a tremendous amount of respect for the directors/writers/producers/actors I write about. I may not like your movie, but please don’t take it personally. I understand that I’m pretty harsh in my ratings — people have told me so — but I’m trying to keep it simple and create a system that will show where my preferences lie.
I’m a sucker for stories, inspired acting, and sincere writing. My favorite movie of all time is Schindler’s List, and unlike many others, I did enjoy The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. What does that show? That no critic has the ultimate say in whether a movie is good or not — you do.
